What is Co-Codamol?
Buy co codamol is a mixture of 2 different painkillers – paracetamol and codeine. It’s used to treat aches and pains including headaches, muscular pain, migraines and toothache. It may help when everyday painkillers such as aspirin or ibuprofen haven’t worked. Co-codamol comes as tablets and capsules. Children under 16 years of age should only be given it on a doctor’s prescription.
You can buy small packets of the lowest strength of co-codamol (8/500) over the counter but the higher strengths (15/500 and 30/500) are only available on prescription from a doctor. It’s important to leave a gap between doses – taking too many can cause serious side effects. If you take too much, your symptoms may include difficulty breathing, blue-tinged lips or fingernails, constricted pupils, feeling sick (nausea) or sleepy, and loss of appetite. If you experience these symptoms, contact your doctor immediately.
The Pros and Cons of Co-Codamol for Pain Management
A few of the most common side effects of co-codamol are constipation and feeling sick (nausea).
